Daniel Knause,DMD
Hello, I’m Dr. Daniel Knause, founder of Southern Laser Dentistry in Greenville, South Carolina. I was born in York, Pennsylvania, and raised right here in Greenville, where I grew up playing competitive tennis and recreational golf. My early love for athletics taught me the value of discipline, precision, and perseverance — traits that would later guide me into dentistry.
I graduated from Furman University in 2009 with a degree in Health and Exercise Science, where I earned three Southern Conference tennis titles during my collegiate career. My passion for health, performance, and helping others led me to pursue dentistry at the Medical University of South Carolina, where I earned my Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2014.
Following graduation, I spent over six years serving as an associate dentist in Greenville. During that time, I developed a deep appreciation for combining advanced technology with personalized care — an approach that ultimately inspired me to create Southern Laser Dentistry.
At Southern Laser Dentistry, my goal is to blend the Southern hospitality and coastal charm our patients have come to love with cutting-edge dental technology, including the Solea laser, ozone therapy, and safe mercury removal techniques. These innovations allow us to provide a more comfortable, precise, and holistic dental experience — one that puts our patients’ health and comfort first.

Outside the Office
When I’m not in the dental chair, you can usually find me outdoors or spending time with my family. I still enjoy staying active — whether it’s a friendly tennis match, a round of golf, or chasing our boys around the yard. My wife, Lacey, and I love exploring Greenville’s parks, local restaurants, and spending weekends making memories with our two sons, Henry and Andrew, and our golden doodle, Charlie. Family time keeps me grounded and reminds me why I love helping others smile every day.
